About PractitionerMap

Last reviewed: June 2026

PractitionerMap is a license-verified directory of chiropractors for the Portland, Oregon metro area and Clark County, Washington. This page explains who runs the directory, how listings are built and verified, and the rules the copy follows.

Who operates this directory

PractitionerMap is owned and operated by Erik Anderson, a chiropractor licensed in Oregon. He is the publisher of the directory and the person responsible for its content. Erik Anderson, DC, is the operator, not a practice that is listed or ranked on the directory.

Oregon chiropractic license

OBCE #5912. Look it up on the Oregon Board of Chiropractic Examiners registry, the same public registry used to verify the practices listed on this directory.

Editorial and clinical review

The condition content on each page is reviewed by Erik Anderson, DC. The review checks that the description of what chiropractic care for a condition involves, and of how the relevant insurance system works, is accurate and stays within the advertising rules described below.

Practice listings (name, address, phone, and website) are compiled from public sources. They are factual directory entries, not clinical statements, and they carry no recommendation from the reviewer.

How practices are identified

Each page covers one condition in one area, for example car accident care in Beaverton. For every condition and area, the practices shown are the chiropractic practices that rank in search results for that condition in that place. This keeps the directory grounded in the practices patients already find, rather than a pay-to-list roster. Practices do not pay to appear in the standard listings.

How licenses are verified

Before a practice is marked verified, the practitioner’s license is checked against the state registry: the Oregon Board of Chiropractic Examiners (OBCE) for Oregon practices, and the Washington State Department of Health for Washington practices. Each verified listing shows the date the check was performed.

Verification confirms an active license on the public registry as of that date. It covers license status only. It is not an endorsement, a certification, a statement about quality of care, or an affiliation with any government agency.

No reviews, no ratings

PractitionerMap does not host reviews or star ratings, and it does not publish a quality score for any practice. The directory reports verifiable facts: license status, credentials, location, and contact information. Review and rating systems can be manipulated, and hosting them on a health directory invites the kind of unverified claim this directory is built to avoid.

Featured positions

Some pages carry a featured position: a paid placement, one per condition and area. A featured position is labeled as sponsored and disclosed under the FTC endorsement rules (16 CFR Part 255). It is a flat-fee directory placement. It is not an earned ranking, a clinical recommendation, or an endorsement. The standard listings on a page are not affected by whether a featured position is sold.

Corrections and claims

A practice can correct its listing or claim it. Use the correction link on any listing to report an error in a name, address, phone number, or license detail. A practitioner who wants to manage their own listing can claim it; the license is checked against the state registry before a claim is approved.

Compliance basis

All published copy follows the rules that govern chiropractic advertising in each state, selected per page by the practice’s state:

  • OAR 811-015-0045: Oregon chiropractic advertising rules
  • ORS 684.100: Oregon grounds for discipline (including superiority and cure claims)
  • WAC 246-808: Washington chiropractic advertising rules
  • FTC Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255): disclosure of paid placements

No medical outcome claims, no superlatives, and no review hosting appear on the directory. The Oregon ruleset applies to Oregon areas and the Washington ruleset to Clark County areas.
